"Extreme Quantum Effects: the Mu+CO Recombination Reaction"

A seminar on recent results by one of the founders of the Muonium chemistry investigations. Quantum effects in the reaction with muonium, the ultra-light isotope of Hydrogen. The depth of the H(Mu)CO potential well is quite shallow (~80 kJ/mol) and, due to its pronounced zero-point energy, sustains only two bound vibrational states for MuCO. The Mu+CO recombination reaction rates are well described by the Isolated Resoance theory of Bowman and co-workers.
