"Pair quantum resistance at the superconductor-insulator transition"

The quantum resistance h/(2e)^2 is measured in a very subtle and refined experiment on the electric field-induced metal-insulator transitions in an insulator LaSrCuO4 ultra-thin film. This value suggests that the Quantum Critical Point where the superconducting state emerges corresponds to a quantum phase transition between delocalized and localized Cooper pairs. The relevance of this experiment for the understanding of high Tc cuprates is discussed.
