Hydrobiological Resources and Water-ecological Environment Assessment in the Source-Region of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River

1. Foundation of project

Qinghai province locates in headstream of rivers, and it is the source-region of Yellow and Yangtze rivers which are very important two rivers of china, so Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is named “water tower of china”. Superior or inferior of water-ecological environment of Yellow and Yangtze rivers are related with river-ecology safety of backward-position of two rivers directly. So far, people know a little about hydrobiological resource of Yellow river and Yangtze river in Qinghai. To investigate it can provide science foundation for hydrobiological environment assessment and management.

2. Content of the research

1、Resource investigation of planktons(pelagic animals and pelagic plants), life-form inhabited under the river、fishes, amphibians and crawlers of Yellow and Yangtze rivers in Qinghai.

2、To investigate hydrological-character of river, configuration of river, river-shore status, physical-chemistry index of water-quality and river biological index of Yellow and Yangtze rivers in Qinghai.

3、To appraise water-ecological environment of Yangtze and Yellow river in Qinghai by means of mathematics method.

4、To search main factor of water-ecological environment change of Yangtze and Yellow river in Qinghai in these years.

5. To provide countermeasure for management and renewing water-ecological environment of Yangtze and Yellow river in Qinghai.
