MAE has established a S&T Cooperation Agreement with MoST (Ministry
of Science and Technology of China). The first agreement was signed in
1978, a new one has been signed in 1998 (but not yet ratified by the
italian side).
Every 3 years an Executive Protocol is agreed between the two parties.

Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP, under the aegis of
UNESCO and IAEA), International Centre for Science and High Technology
(ICS, part of UNIDO), International Centre for Genetic Engineering and
Biotechnology are international institutes in Trieste, who give
scholarships to students of many countries, including China, to spend
periods of 6 months to one year in italian research laboratories.
During the last twenty years, ICTP has provided hundreds of
scholarships to chinese students and researchers for training
and research in italian laboratories , organised workshops and
summer schools in various subjects of basic and applied science, and
