Welcome to the JEMS 2012 conference in Parma
The Joint European Magnetic Symposia are the most important and comprehensive conference on magnetism in Europe. JEMS 2012 is the sixth edition of the event and will be held in Parma, Italy, from September 9th to 14th, 2012. Previous JEMS conferences took place in Grenoble (2001), Dresden (2004), San Sebastian (2006), Dublin (2008) and Krakow (2010). The next edition JEMS2013 will be held in Rhodes, Greece, from August 25th to 30th, 2013. The Joint European Magnetic Symposia are closely linked with their school counterpart The European School on Magnetism
The Symposia will focus on a broad range of topics embracing applicative and fundamental aspects of magnetism, as well as novel magnetic materials. The international magnetics community at large is invited to attend and submit its latest findings to JEMS2012. The conference programme will consist of plenary, semi-plenary, and contributed talks, complemented by poster sessions. A number of invited speakers will give lectures on important recent advances in the field. The attendance of students is welcome and encouraged.
JEMS2012 is a EPS sponsored conference jointly organized by the Physics Department of the University of Parma and by the IMEM-CNR Institute.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee we are happy to welcome you to Parma, and to JEMS 2012.
Franca Albertini, Institute of Materials for Electronics and Magnetism (IMEM), CNR, Parma
Roberto De Renzi, Department of Physics, University of Parma
