Molecular organized films are deposited mainly by:
Langmuir-Blodgett (LB), Langmuir-Schaefer (LS), Self-assembly, and Layer-by-layer adsorption techniques.
These techniques
provide the possibility of "molecular
easy manipulation with various materials at the molecular level (namely, manipulation with monomolecular layers), creation of the films with pre-determined layered structure and desired properties.
Specific features of molecular organized films:
extremely high uniformity, high structural order, and precisely controlled thickness (beginning from one monolayer).
Fields of potential applications:
microelectronics, molecular electronics, optoelectronics, chemical sensors and biosensors, biotechnology, biocatalysis, bioanalytical techniques, and others.
Approach
of "molecular design" can unite also in a
deposition by LB (or LS) technique, self-assembly, and adsorption processes.
