You want to know the name of the person before you start walking all over his/her shoulders.
One of my favorite quotes by Mr. Isaac:
“I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.”
And a hilarious one by Sidney Coleman: ”If I have seen further than others, it is because I was standing in between the shoulders of dwarves.”
(By the way, he is just slightly confused about a previous quote by Mr. Isaac: “If I have seen further it is only by standing on the shoulders of giants” :) )

Disclaimer: the quote and the images offer a quite romantic vision of Physics, be aware that these people were smart and able to face everyday problems (even if they may have found them boring to deal with).
